An Interview with Claire from Miss Bella's Blooms!

An Interview with Claire from Miss Bella's Blooms!

If there is anything that can complete an outfit, it is a beautiful bright hair flower. In fact I would say I have gotten to the point, where I feel naked if I leave the house without a perfectly picked hair flower to balance my hairdoo and compliment my outfit. But there is so much to consider when picking that statement headpiece. Is the colour right? Does the arrangement suit me, is it unique enough and is the quality going to last through all the hairstyles and products I put it through?!

The Powderpuff Parlour

The Powderpuff Parlour

The Powderpuff Room began as a promise to take care of myself, to live for the things that make me smile and to remind myself that I am good enough. The first incarnation of The Powderpuff Room was the Blog I started in 2015 where I wanted to share my experience of products, clothes and events that made me happy whilst promoting self love and body positivity.

As my blog has grown and indeed given me lots of reasons to smile, I knew I wanted to evolve this in to something that would make others feel wonderful too. Inspired by the enchanting styles from the 1920s to 1960s, I want to offer a service that makes you feel as beautiful as you are. So from a simple trim to a full vintage up-do, I want to make sure you feel pampered and looked after. Lets add a little touch of that vintage magic with a visit to The Powderpuff Parlour.

How to Get The Pin Up Look!

How to Get The Pin Up Look!

(Marilyns dress from the film 'Misfits')
Growing up I never felt beautiful, and I'm pretty sure the more I become unhappy with myself the worse I looked. Beauty Icons are very important in a young girls life. They do not just teach us how to dress and how to do our make up but they also offer comfort. They are there when we are growing and reaching out to learn who we really are. So a beauty style Icon for me is not about being perfect, it is about being yourself, overcoming your trouble and striving for positivity.

Fun - Lush Review

Fun - Lush Review

What I really love about Lush is how the whole brand has a friendly personality. It's like meeting a new friend and realising you both have the same weird sense of humour. Another thing I really value in a friend is kindness. I really love the little things in life, I admire anyone and anything that's purpose is to bring a smile to someones face, even if it is a terrible joke/pun or a fun item made to make something some people may struggle with a little easier.

Annabelle's Wigs Hair Piece Challenge

Annabelle's Wigs Hair Piece Challenge

I was so excited when I heard that my hair piece was on its way for the Annabelle's Wigs Hair Piece Challenge. I couldn't wait to see what styles I could create using it. They had matched me with the 3/4 Wig Hairpiece 'Raven'. A long black, straight hair half wig with layers.

When it arrived I was amazed to see how close the colour suited my own hair and it felt so natural to touch. It is attached with two flexi combs at the front and back of the netted cap. It is easy to put in by simply parting the front section of your hair, and slipping the combs into the parting. Once the front and back combs are in place it feels very secure but you can also add extra bobbi-pins if you would like added security. After the hair piece is inserted the rest is up to you, have fun playing with it and wear it in whatever style you like.
