London Edge - February 2017

Last Month I finally got to attend London Edge, an event I have been eager to visit, since before I had even started blogging. If you don't know, London Edge is an alternative fashion trade show, held twice a year and showcasing some of my favourite brands and what they have to offer for the Spring/Summer and Autumn/Winter seasons. Brands such as Banned Apparel, Collectif, Hell Bunny, Voodoo Vixen, Victory Parade, Hearts and Roses and lots lots more, fill their rails with a massive amount of gorgeous new lines for retailers to order, and for little bloggers like myself to gather snippets of whats to come, to tell you all about.
Since this event was on the 12th and 13th of February, me and my adorable husband decided to have a little get away so we could enjoy both days and have some time together looking around for Valentines. In-between visits to the event we also visited Camden Market, Irregular Choice and Lush Oxford Street (because of course it would be rude to come all the way to London and not to). As well as seeing all the new clothing being released I also had fun deciding what I would wear for each day. The first day I embraced the season of love and wore my Vivien Of Holloway Grace Red Sweetheart Bust Dress, and on the second I wore my Collectif Rachel Doll Dress in black with my Dear Scantily Surrender Harness bra Underneath.

When we arrived we were greeted at the door and given our cute little press passes, gift bags and tickets to the VIP after party. We then did a quick sweep through, not sure where would be best to start. We met my lovely boss lady, Gretchen from Bohemian Finds, Vintage Doll Laura and the beautiful Tanya from Secret Plus Size Goddess with her stunning ladies (who I got to know better later at the party and totally loved).

It's so difficult to break down all the amazing clothing I saw, and everything that went into creating an event like this. As I wandered around chatting to people it also made me realise what a lovely little community had been build from peoples love of fashion. In attendance I met wholesalers, retailers, designers, photographers, models, bloggers and even people that had travelled far to be a part of it. Spring and summer are always the happiest times for me, I love putting on a pretty dress, choosing fun accessories and walking around with the sun warming my skin. So as I walked around, I could not help but get excited thinking of these happy moments to come. There were so many wonderful outfits that made me smile, now let me show you some of my favourites.
Collectif
The first exhibitioner we visited was the wonderful Collectif. I fell instantly in love with their watermelon skirt and dress, and nearly squealed at all the cute novelty bags, though it broke my heart when I found out I would have to wait till autumn for a gorgeous Lipstick one I wanted to take home. This year we can see lots of tropical, seaside, fruity and gingham prints. There is a array of swing dresses and skirts, some gorgeous wiggle dresses and I am very excited to get my hands on all the different colour Dolores Tops I can find.
Hell Bunny
We then skipped over to Hell Bunny where I could not get past my love of the most beautiful white wicker bag. When I finally managed to tear myself away, I was in a paradise of gorgeous fruit prints, bright colours, nautical themes and spring pastels. There were also some pretty cardigans and the softest petticoats that I was mesmerised by ( I loved the yellow one). We sat and had a beer here as we looked through there catalogue and discussed with my beautiful boss lady what would go well in store, it was fascinating being at this event as a blogger and also getting to see this side of ordering for the store.

Hearts & Roses London
Next we visited Hearts and Roses London, I'd only found this brand within the last year or so whilst working for Bohemian Finds, and now own a fair few of there dresses and skirts. I was so pleased to see their rails were full of lots of lovely floral and polka dot patterns, as well as a little bit of lace. The colours really popped and lots of floaty dresses really announced that spring was coming. As you can see from the pictures I also met there very lovely and beautiful BlossomandButtercups here, who was modelling for them.

Banned Apparel
Visiting Banned Apparel made me feel like a child in a candy shop, I could not focus on just one thing. They are one my favourite bag suppliers, their shoes are beautiful and their dresses are just stunning. This Spring/Summer we can see lots of Flamingo, Fruit, Mermaid, Bumble Bee, Campervan and Bikes, and (a kind of) Willow Print patterns. There are also lots of old favourites returning and I know there are going to be more fabulous plus size choices, as I was lucky enough to model for Banned a few weeks after this (with the amazing photographer Terry Mendoza, who's work I had long admired and who I had the pleasure of meeting him at this event).

Victory Parade
I have loved Victory Parades dresses for a while now, but I still haven't had the chance to try them. Being plus size can sometimes make it a fair bit of hassle to find the right fit in new brands, but it was amazing to get a chance to see them in person and talk about them with the lovely lady there. These dresses are stunning and really stand out, I am besotted with the sharp points to the collars and pockets on the peacock print dress and after seeing it in person I am determined to make it mine. There sizing goes up to a 3xl/20 and I will be interested to see how this comes up when I get to try it. I will be sure to review it when I do.

Voodoo Vixen
Voodoo Vixens rails were brimming with everything feminine and floral, I loved all the flower detailing and soft necklines. They are bringing back some old favourites, releasing their own bridal range and have a cute selection of playsuits. I was ecstatic to see their Dotty Ladybird dress back but then was saddened to learn it only goes up to a size 14. I have a fair few outfits from Voodoo Vixen and count them among my favourite brands, but I am worried that the plus size choices seem to be diminishing, and after waiting months for their Lola dress and finding out it never came in plus, I feel I may meet the same disappointment with new releases again.

English Country Garden
I also got to meet English Country Vintage, an independent business based in Staunton Harold. She hand makes vintage inspired clothing, specialising in formal occasion, mother of the bride and day wear outfits. She also takes on bespoke commissions. Her beautiful floral and tulle dresses are just stunning, perfect for proms and weddings and if I don't find an occasion to wear one, I think I could just wear one because it is Spring. The quality, uniqueness and fabulous fabrics she sources truly make her stand out and I will be sure to dream up an idea for a bespoke piece from her soon.

Le Keux Cosmetics
As well as a dress addict, I am also mad about make up. So it was great to see Le Keux Cosmetics at London Edge and to get to try there products in person. I had seen the beautiful Lynsey and Diablo around on social media a lot and had been wanting to try their products, but it makes all the difference when you can see, touch and smell them (this maybe strange?) Both Ladies were lovely and very informative with their products and business. As well as make up they have two salons based in Birmingham and Leeds and offer makeovers, pinup photoshoots, parties and more. I absolute loved there packaging and took a few products home to try, which I have been loving.

There was so much to see, and probably so much more I could tell you but for now these were my highlights. We had a lovely couple of days seeing beautiful things, meeting lovely people and having random adventures. The Party the London Edge team had organised after the first day was pretty fantastic in itself. They presented awards, provided tokens for drinks and food and the venue was rather special. The entertainment was provided by Virgin Xtravaganzah who was hosting and sang some amazing parodies that made our cheeks hurt from laughing so much. There was also the jaw droppingly gorgeous Talulah Blue, who preformed two sets both so cheeky, sexy and amazingly choreographed, even including a routine with hoops.

Thank you for reading my post, I was so impressed with my first visit to London Edge, though I've only talked about a few of my favourites, there was lots more on show. The room was a celebration of Exhibitioners showcasing alternative clothing and jewellery, shoes, hair dyes, make up, bath bombs and so much more. There were areas for food, drinks, sweets and even a welcome cart where we were offered shots. Im going to be honest and tell you I have already started getting some of these beauties and I highly recommend you check out your local retails to get your hands on some too.

  2. I have always been interested in making money on the Internet, and online casinos, as it turned out, brought easy money. There's not much to do there. I just play the slot every day and earn money from it. You can try the game online for free www.casinoslots.co.nz
