Cherries On Madison Dress - Lady V London Review

What can bring a smile to your face more than a pretty dress and meeting lovely people. I was recently reminded of this while talking to a lady called Marie, who shares my love of dresses and who owns her own shop selling them. We talked about how dresses make us feel, how they can have big affect on our lives and of course we discussed some of our favourite brands. This led to her very kindly sending me a beautiful dress to review, and I can not wait to tell you about it.

Maries shop Didis Boutique is located in Altrincham, Cheshire. In May 2015, Marie took over and has transformed the store into a wonderland of vintage and rockabilly fashion must haves. With Maries friendly and helpful nature and the store having its very own catwalk, this place offers the full dress shopping experience and you are bound to walk out a very happy and fabulous customer.

With Maries Help I choose the Cherries On Madison Dress from Lady V London, it is a 1950s circle skirt swing dress, fully flared with pleats. This stunning dress is made from cotton and elastin, and in appearance is black with a pretty cherry design. The bust is ruched, which I find is very flattering if you have a fuller bust. I was also impressed that the zip is neatly concealed on the side and yet still not to small, that it is fragile or difficult to do up. The length is perfect, reaching just below my knees, this elongates the legs and is flattering for the curvier figures. This length also adds to the more authentic vintage feel to the dress.

Having had similar cut dresses to this before from another brand, I thought I would have to size up when opting for this dress. Choosing to follow Maries advice however, I went for my usual size 18 and was not disappointed, the Fit was perfect. The bust allowed room for larger breasts, while the waist still nipped in enough to create an hourglass figure. It is so lovely to find a dress that does not sag in one of these areas. The material is so light and comfortable to wear, which is just want you want now that we are coming into our hotter months. I was also excited that while this dress looks fabulous with a petticoat, the pleats create a beautiful full looking fall, so if it ever felt to warm to wear a petticoat, this dress would still look amazing without one.

The Lady Vintage Cherries On Madison Dress is available in sizes 8 to 22 and is available on their website and will soon be coming to Didis Boutique. Marie was an absolute darling to deal with, her advice was spot on and her passion for what she does shines through. If you would like to contact her yourself, you will find her on Facebook and Twitter, as well as her own website.

Thank you for reading my post, this dress has truly made its way into my favourites. I love the style, the pattern and the fit, in fact I can't think of anything I don't like about it. I do hope this post has been useful and do let me know if you give this dress or Didis boutique a try.
