Floating Island Bath Melt - Lush Review

While feeling rather worn out and a little in need of care I turned to the Floating Island Bath Melt for a little get-away. Like most Bath Melts it is not much to look at. It doesn't put on a marvellous display like Lush Bath Bombs. Instead the magic in the Floating Island Bath Melt all lies in the ingredients and what they have to offer.

This white block of essential oils is not shaped evenly or moulded into a fancy creation but rather just a circular block with grooved edging. Somehow I find this still represents an isolated island and the creamy colour alludes to the soothing treat that will soften your skin.

A bath melt is used by simply dropping it into your steamy bath and leaving it to dissolve. This product slowly foams and leaves a layer of Butters and Oils dancing across the water. The essential oils soften the water and release a light Sandalwood and Cocoa butter fragrance. The aroma is as creamy and comforting as the Melt looks, you can also note the subtle hints of Lemon as it rises in the air leaving you feeling soothed and brightened.

The scent is light but exotic, made up from a blend of: soothing Sandalwood Oil, conditioning Fair Trade Organic Cocoa Butter, moisturising Almond Oil and uplifting Lemon Oil. This blend offers a nourishing, revitalising and uplifting experience to heal a number of worries. Once it has worked it's magic however, the scent does not linger.

The Floating Island Bath Melt left my skin feeling silky smooth and my mind blissfully tranquil. The water was given a creamy and milky tint but the colour was not highly different. This makes it perfect to create a luxurious bath cocktail. You can split in and make it spread across two separate baths or use the whole melt to guarantee a treat grand enough for a queen.
I loved this Bath Melt, though it may seem rather plain and the fragrance is not powerful, the condition it left my skin in was unbeatable. I can see why they are named Luxury Bath Melts because the experience really was luxurious. So if your skin could do with some tender loving care, why not treat yourself. Visit your local Lush store or purchase from the Lush Website.

Helpful Ingredients
  • Sodium Bicarbonate is soothing, it softens the water and improves circulation.
  • Fair Trade Organic Cocoa Butter is nourishing and helps to keep skin soft and well conditioned.

  • Sandalwood Oil is used for its uplifting and soothing properties.
  • Lemon Oil has antiseptic and antibacterial qualities which help clear the skin, The uplifting fragrance is used to refresh the mind and can be used to treat the symptoms of SAD.
